Day 1 (Friday, May 23) – Arrive to Cozumel
Arrive anytime today and check into the dive hotel where we’ll all be staying
Enjoy a group welcome dinner to get to know all your new dive buddies!

Day 4 (Mon, May 26 [Memorial Day US Holiday]) – Playa del Carmen
If you just became OW certified, you can choose between two Playa del Carmen-side reef dives (it’s different than Cozumel, and you can visit an underwater statue!) or two cenote dives in Chac Mol and Kukulcan if you are comfortable with your buoyancy to swim through relatively small spaces with overhead areas.
If you just became AOW certified, you can participate in the epic deep cenotes tomorrow – but today, we’ll all go together for two dives in the intro cenotes perfect for first-timers: Chac Mol and Kukulcan.
If you are a certified diver, we’ll all go together in the intro cenotes perfect for first-timers: Chac Mol and Kukulcan.
Day 5 (Tuesday, May 27) – Depart from Cancun, or extend your trip!
The trip officially ends today – fly out of Cancun airport at any time.
BUT…. if you have time to spare and want more dives, then fly out on May 28 and choose from these options:
Open Water divers: two dives in Cenote Dos Ojos (Barbie Line and Bat Cave)
Advanced Open Water divers: one dive in Cenote Dos Ojos, and one dive in El Pit (deep)
Day 6 (Wednesday, May 28) – optional extension day
You can fly out today… OR you can extend for another day of cenote dives if you’re Advanced Open water and want MAXIMUM cenote time: Cenote Angelita (with a sunken tree and sulfur cloud deep down at 100ft) and Casa Cenote (swimming underneath a mangrove forest with caves made out of mangrove tree roots!)
Day 7 (Thursday, May 29) – optional extension day
You can fly out today… OR extend your trip and join Caitlyn to head to Isla Mujeres for 2-3 days and try our luck to see whale sharks since they’re in season this time of year!
Price:
Since Caitlyn has been able to heavily negotiate down some group rates compared to typical tourist prices, the total price for the trip will depend on how many divers end up joining for Open Water, vs AOW, vs fun dives.
Roughly:
$450 for Open Water certification (which is a steal compared to the $1K+ Caitlyn paid to get certified in California 😅)
$400 for Advanced Open Water certification
Fun dives on Cozumel for certified divers: approx $100 per 2-tank dive, rental gear included!
Cenote dives: approx $100 per dive, with discounts the more dives you do
Approx $50 per night for accommodations (less if more people join)
Caitlyn will price out everything for you with group discounts exactly once we have a better idea of who’s committed to joining the trip. But this trip falls in the range of $1000 for dives/certification, accommodation, and ferry for May 23-27 – with the option to add more dives/days for the approximate incremental costs stated above. Food and flights are on your own expense/not included in the pricing above.
